A post, truly?

Oh, by jove it is! Ruddy luck that is, seems she never does them anymore.

Which is all too true. Art Education has me body and soul until December, at which point more posting should and shall be expected. As well, more commenting for I do miss talking about your artwork as well. Until then though, I give you one of a series of collages I am working on in my "free time" based off old cabinet photographs. Meghan is making sets as well and with any luck we might have a show of them before the year is out, so keep an eye out!

The fall semester

I am afraid that, with teaching practicum, my art output will be wanting for the semester. But come December, I will be finished with Art Education in its entirety and I will be able to dedicate my time fully to Illustration. Cheers!

That being said, two quick sketches from the Newport Folk Festival:

And my character to play around with (unofficially) for character creation: Charlotte Dana Donavan, aka "Charlie":

Journalistic Drawing: Italy II

Italy round II: illustrations from the world of the watercolour block

First, my favourite Italy illustration, Saint Thomas Aquinas, who spoke in Viterbo during his lifetime--maybe just not in this "Godspell" of a fashion:

Also be sure to check out Drawing Viterbo which should soon be updated with the work of the rest of Montserrat's Journalistic Drawing Class 2009

Journalistic Drawing: Italy

Back from Italy with a good amount of artwork some I am quite proud of and some not as much; that is always the way of it though.

First, a few favourites from my Moleskine:

Villa Lante à la Edward Gorey:

And a bonus image from my pre-Italy notebook, embroidery:

Oh Dear!

I have ignored this blog as of late--as well as my companions blogs. I shall have to do some scanning and posting directly, as well as catching up with everyone else's work.

In the mean time, a picture I just received of--almost all of--my senior illustration class* from our Senior Show Opening:

A Look Into Western Frontier Life

For Senior Illustration Seminar: "Mock Art Director" project. For Jamie, I was assigned to do vignettes for a young adult book of three women in frontier America. This is what I came up with:

Hope you like them.

New Poster Time

Victorian Poster: Take Three Spirit Medium

Revamped the sketch I put up the other week, collaged in some scrap-booking paper from AC Moore and came up with this piece which I am quite happy with:

Bonnet - In progress

As an update to this dear blog, I though I would post an in progress piece. I am in the process of redoing this vignette of a hat and hatbox I had done for Illustration Thesis last semester. Deciding what colour and pattern to make the hatbox is proving to be quite the trial though.
